One of the most natural and beautiful parts of Sheffield has to be the Botanical Gardens located just off Ecclesall Road. With a large greenhouse \/ pavilion with many wild and exotic flowers and plants inside as well as a massive amount all throughout the grounds. To protect the grass, plants and flowers during this weekend’s large event run by Events Collective, certain areas were closed off and other areas were protected using our fully recycled Grass Mats.<\/p>\n\n

Illuminate The Garden<\/a><\/h2>\n

Illuminate The Garden was an event set up by Events Collective<\/a> specially for Bonfire Night. The event ran on both Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November and over 10,000 tickets were sold. The MD of Events Collective, Bob Worm, was one of the driving forces behind the event and did a fantastic job of setting up the gardens and ensuring the smooth running of the weekend.<\/p>\n

A number of local food and drink companies joined in on the festivities; Smoke BBQ Sheffield<\/a>, The Gravy Train Poutine<\/a>, The Sunshine Pizza Oven<\/a>, The Otto-Men<\/a>, Corn Of The Dead<\/a>, Wah Wah’s<\/a>, Stancill Brewery, Bradfield Brewery<\/a>, Kelham Island Brewery<\/a>, Mr D’Arcys Drink Emporium, Coffika<\/a> and finally the onsite cafe The Curators House. The food and drink was very much a success which can be seen through thousands of social media posts and could also be seen on the faces of everyone walking around the event!<\/p>\n\n\n

Grass Mats<\/a><\/h2>\n

Our Grass Protection Mats<\/a> are made of fully recycled rubber and are available in two sizes, 23mm thick mats<\/a> and 16mm thick mats<\/a>. We are one of the UK’s largest importer, wholesale and distributor of Grass Mats to commercial and domestic customers. The 23mm mats have been tested by Rapra to BS EN 1177:1998, for a critical fall height of 3.3m. The 16mm mats have also been tested to a fall height of 1m. Plastic Fixing Pegs<\/a> (sold separately) are required to secure the grass mats into the ground to ensure they do not move or slide when stood\/walked on.<\/p>\n

The Grass Mats are lightweight, quick and easy to install and once down are very low maintenance. We visited the park on Friday 3rd November to meet with Bob and his team to see how they were preparing the gardens where we saw and were told how simple our mats were to use.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Event<\/a><\/h2>\n

Illuminate The Garden was scheduled to run on Saturday 5pm – 10pm and Sunday 4pm – 9pm. In order to protect the Botanical Gardens grass and plants from the thousands of visitors, Bob and his team at Events Collective began researching grass protection mats to find a solution to their potential problem. This is when they found our website and began browsing our grass mats and reading up on their fantastic benefits. Bob ordered his mats the same day he found us and had them delivered specifically on Friday to ensure they could be installed and ready for the weekend.<\/p>\n

Whilst at the park on Friday we also witnessed all of the work the Fireworks, Food and Drink staff were putting into setting up their stands ready for the big nights ahead.<\/p>\n

The entire night was fantastic and a big shoutout to Optimum Fireworks<\/a> for the fantastic display they put together for both nights!<\/p>\n\n\n

Conclusion<\/a><\/h2>\n

The entire event was a monumental success. With more than 10,000 people visiting the Gardens over the weekend to see the fireworks, Bob and his team did a fantastic job managing the two nights and quickly responding to any feedback given to them by members of the public. Our grass mats stood up to the challenge of the thousands of visitors and were even easy to remove and transport away on Monday.<\/p>\n
